For Schools - Primary and Secondary

Childlight Training

• We are pleased to be able to share our experience by offering training and consultancy on any aspect of our work. We tailor our Training Workshops to the specific needs and objectives of clients and these can range in duration from a couple of hours to  longer and more in-depth Professional Development Workshops.

Recent training provided for teaching and support staff has included:

• Helping children to deal with parental separation and divorce

• Raising children’s confidence and self esteem

• Supporting young children with pre-bereavement and the loss of a parent

Consultancy and Support Services:

• Advising teachers how to handle challenging pupils or situations
• Setting up a new counselling service
• Evaluating the effectiveness of an existing service
• Mediation for disruptive and unresolved pupil disputes

Counselling

• Sessions can be provided within schools on a regular basis or ‘one off’
• Emergency counselling and group work
• Trauma counselling and debriefing

For Counsellors

We are often asked by counsellors and others who have a professional interest in this work to share our experience by providing training on counselling children and young people. So we are pleased to announce that we are planning to offer new workshops to meet this demand early in 2010.
